Tokyo Ghoul: 5 Marvel Characters Ken Would Defeat

The protagonist of the hit anime Tokyo Ghoul is Ken Kaneki. He has the ability to beat any superpowered characters.

The protagonist of the hit anime Tokyo Ghoul is Ken Kaneki. Ghouls are vampires in the series, but instead of humans being transformed into bloodsucking monsters after being preyed upon by other vamps, ghouls are a different race that looks like humans, can withstand sunlight, and must drink blood to survive. Ken Kaneki is an outlier, having been transformed into a ghoul after receiving ghoul organ transplants.

Ken grows in strength over the course of the season, possessing superhuman powers, so it’s only natural to compare him to the most well-known superpowered characters currently dominating the popular zeitgeist: the Marvel Universe’s costume characters. Ken will beat the following Marvel characters.

Defeat: Punisher

After his family was murdered by mobsters in front of him, Frank Castle became the Punisher. He had plenty of combat experience as a Vietnam War veteran who served in the Special Forces, but after the loss of losing his loved ones, he converted himself into a human tool.

Punisher assassinated almost every enemy that came into contact with him, killing tens of thousands of people. A mere human like Castle, on the other hand, would struggle against someone like Ken Kaneki. Kaneki, after all, had grown to be one of the most influential figures in the Tokyo Ghoulniverse. Ken will, in short, match Frank’s face to the skull on his chest.

Defeat: Morbius

Morbius has received a lot of publicity recently, thanks to the release of the trailer for his upcoming film. As a Spider-Man villain, the “Living Vampire” got his start. He was a Nobel Laureate with a crippling illness who attempted to cure himself by altering his genetics, turning himself into a vampire – albeit one without supernatural powers and without a deadly sensitivity to sunlight.

Ken was also transformed into a vampiric ghoul as a result of a botched medical operation, which rendered him unable to eat human food but enabled him to operate in direct sunlight. Ken’s transformations, on the other hand, made him much more powerful than Morbius could ever hope to be. Ken would empty Morbius’ veins and drink a victory toast if the two had crossed paths.

Defeat: Ant-Man

Ant-Man was a founding member of the Avengers and was once regarded as one of the most powerful superheroes in the world. He discovered Pym particles as a scientist, which enable him to shrink to microscopic size or expand to enormous heights. In the Marvel Universe, he also developed the artificial intelligence Ultron, earning him the title of “Father of AI” (though technically, that title should go to Phineas Horton who constructed the first Human Torch).

Ant-Man, no matter how weak, would not be able to defeat Ken Kaneki. These two fighters are simply not in the same weight class, and no matter how much more mass Ant-Man put into a punch, he’d still lose.

Defeat: Jessica Jones

In the horrific accident that killed her parents, Jessica Jones acquired superpowers. She eschewed the superhero career route in favor of becoming a private investigator, a jaded educated kid who wasn’t cut out to dress up in a bright mask and punch evildoers in the jaw.

Ken is more strong than Jessica. Jessica Jones’ best chance of surviving a battle with Ken Kaneki would be to rely on her urban survival skills, which she’d developed over the course of her life in New York (though they’d definitely come in handy in Tokyo as well). Ken, by far the most dangerous of the characters, will feast on Jessica’s whiskey-infused blood.

Defeat: Sunfire

Sunfire, a mutant, joined the X-Men at the same time as Storm and Wolverine did. Sunfire has inflicted his share of sick wounds, both heat-induced and psychological, thanks to his pyrokinetic abilities and an especially glum demeanor. He was a founding member of the Avengers Unity Team and was a member of the famed group of mutants known as the Twelve.

Sunfire, a native of Japan, would almost certainly be aware of the existence of ghouls and would be aware of the stories about Ken that circulated among supernatural law enforcement agencies. Any war between these two will be extremely close..While Sunfire might be able to turn Ken into a Ghoul Tempura, the reality is that the mutant would be the loser in a fight.
